I’m often asked how I went from stock broker, to antique dealer turned TV personality, to now…publicist. Believe it or not, each “career” in my life has been a stepping stone to the next. I also have found skills I learned working in one field could often apply to the next.
When I was introduced to Rocco Venneri, owner of Cool Cat Wine Spritzers, I found myself wondering how one goes from the world fashion to launching a spirits brand. I’ve always wanted to have my own brand of chill and serve beverages, so of course an interview was in order…
Tell me about your time working in the world of fashion.
My career in the fashion industry began at Saks Fifth Avenue in the corporate office where I worked in Men’s Public Relations. From there, I went on to work for global lifestyle brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Armani and global American heritage brands, GANT and Woolrich. During this time, I worked closely with premium alcohol brands on bespoke events and activations.
Being successful in fashion is about innovation and marketing. That is also true in the beverage alcohol industry. Working in fashion for more than 15 years, I’ve built a strong network of top creative talent, many of whom I’ve called upon since branching off on my own to help guide me while developing Cool Cat.
